In 2006 and 2007, Leichhardt Resources acquired a substantial land package of 5 tenements encompassing some 7,200 km2 in New South Wales and Victoria for Coal Seam
Gas exploration and development. These tenements are located in areas with thick accumulations of coal bearing sedimentation and past exploration has identified extensive coal resources with proven gas producing properties at
shallow to moderate depth. These tenements are considered highly prospective for the commercial development of coal methane gas.
Following the recent consolidation of the gas sector, Leichhardt
Resources is one of the few privately
held gas exploration companies in Australia.
We therefore believe Leichhardt represents
an excellent opportunity in the
emerging CSG energy market of Australia’s
two most populous states.
